How many ink and toner cartridges does your company get through in a month?

Times this by each company you can think of and then by a year and suddenly you are left with a lot of cartridges!

Now consider that each cartridge can take up to 75 years to bio-degrade - and you are left with a lot of landfill sites being filled with these everyday office supplies.

So, what can you do?

Donate your cartridges and toners to us!

If these cartridges are passed on to Memorandum then we can stop them ending up in landfill sites. In fact no part of a toner donated to us ends up in landfill - most of the toner or cartridge is recycled whilst the remainder is sold to use as other parts.

As well as helping the environment, your cartridges and toners can also benefit charities: we make a donation of up to £2 for each cartridge donated to us.

So, we not only help you and your company do your bit for the environment, but also help you benefit our favorite charities with the minimum of hassle.

How to get your cartridge or toner to us:

We used to send out storage and collection boxes to our customers in return for them recycling their cartridges and toners with us.

However, we feel that this conflicts with our ethos somewhat. We would much prefer our customers to use an old cardboard box (eg. A paper ream box or PC box) to collect their cartridges and toners in.

As much as we appreciate this would not look as smart as our branded boxes, we feel that it would be hypocritical of us to produce yet more boxes when most offices will already have one laying around.

We will however collect your cartridges and toners from you!

So, what will we do with your cartridges and toners?

We either recycle them or they are re-used to make more cartridges.

We use specialist companies to rebuild your empty cartridges to specifications that tests have proved to be equal or higher than your originals.

The cartridges are fitted with new longlife components, then rigorously tested. They cost far less than a new manufacturer's replacement and give maximum quality for minimum cost, as well as many more printed sheets than from your originals.

Other parts such as the body of the cartridge, which is made from ABS plastic, are recycled to be made into products such as pens and rulers.

The metals within the toners and cartridges are melted down in order to be used again and the waste toner can be used when making Tarmac for road surfaces.
